The Program “Human Rights and Justice” initiative, together with the “Public Health” program initiative of the International Renaissance Foundation are seeking proposals for a program entitled “Safe Community-Common Interest, Joint Responsibility”.
The purpose of the competition is to support the formation of sustained ties at the level of territorial communities that promote the implementation of police accountability, community engagement in identifying and addressing community security problems, establishing and maintaining law and order, providing prevention of crime, developing a safe community in the community, based on a dialogue among the various stakeholders at the level The community.
Program Lots
The competition consists of two lots, of which:
- Lot 1 is aimed at communities that have no prior experience in building partnerships and developing joint initiatives for a safe community in the community.
- Lot 2 is community-based, with the experience of building partnerships between various stakeholders for solving community security issues and which additional tools will be used to assess community readiness to implement the proposed initiative.
Priorities
- Involvement of local communities in ensuring law and order and security;
- Building of sustainable interaction between different stakeholders in communities on the principles of inclusiveness of different groups;
- Developing practices for identifying local security issues by involving active members of local communities and joint development of interaction models among different actors to create a safe environment;
- To develop and promote the implementation of security and law enforcement programs at the level of local communities based on the identified needs of the community in security;
- Creation in cooperation with local government bodies (platforms / platforms) that, in cooperation with the police and other interested parties, carry out active educational, educational activities aimed at crime prevention, strengthening of law and order and local security;
- Formation of the practice of accountability of local communities to local police activities.
Funding Information
- For Lot 1: The maximum grant size is UAH 370,000. The maximum project term is 12 month
- For Lot 2: The maximum grant size is 700 000 UAH. The maximum project term is 12 months.
Eligibility Criteria
Non-profit organizations, in particular charitable organizations, public associations that have the status of a non-profit or charitable organization and are officially registered in Ukraine.
