Thanks Mom & Dad Fund is requesting proposals from organizations serving older adults in Georgia to address social isolation and loneliness.
Social Isolation has long been an ongoing problem for older adults. With seniors most at-risk for the COVID-19 virus, the problem has been exacerbated and continues to affect the older population as the virus lingers and surges in Georgia.
Funding Information
- Approximately ten awards of up to $5,000 are available for programs designed to pilot innovations to relieve the burden and challenges of social isolation among older adults in Georgia.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible organizations are:
- Recognized 501(c) 3 nonprofit organizations; OR
- Proof that organization is “operating as a Unit of Government serving the public”; and
- Provide programs and services for older adults age 55 plus and/or caregivers in the State of Georgia.
- Preference in funding is given to proposals for programs that have a direct impact on the lives of older adults 55+ and are committed to using the recommended Lubben Social Network Scale to pre-test and post-test for seniors at risk.
