The Home Office of United Kingdom is seeking proposals from organisations from the statutory, not-for-profit and for profit sectors for grant-funding for two competed funds namely A Modern Slavery Innovation Fund (MSIF) and A Child Trafficking Protection Fund (CTPF).
Objectives
- A Modern Slavery Innovation Fund (MSIF): It aims to tackle the root causes of modern slavery, strengthening efforts to combat slavery and reduce vulnerability, and build an evidence base to better understand what works in the future. Proposals should set out how they support at least one of the 6 objectives of the fund:
- Reduce Vulnerability to Exploitation
- Victim Support and Recovery
- Improve Global Co-ordination
- Improve Law, Legislation and Policy
- Encourage responsible business and slavery-free supply chains
- Improve the Evidence Base
- A Child Trafficking Protection Fund (CTPF): To enable the delivery of new and innovative projects or initiatives to provide positive outcomes for potentially trafficked children. Proposals should set out how they will support the two objectives of the Child Trafficking Protection Fund:
- Reduce Vulnerability to Exploitation
- Victim Support and Recovery
Funding Information
- A Modern Slavery Innovation Fund (MSIF): The MSIF will make available £11m ODA funding from 2016-17 to 2020-21.
- This first call for proposals is for £6m ODA funding available until 2018-19.
- A Child Trafficking Protection Fund (CTPF): The CTPF will provide up to £3m of funding of which 80% is from ODA.
- The funding is available over a 27 month period which will cover 3 financial years from 2016-17 to 2018-19.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Home Office will seek proposals from organisations from the statutory, not for profit and for profit sectors for grant funding.
- The Home Office welcomes collaborative proposals covering multiple areas and different sectors e.g. statutory (UKVI, Police, NCA, Local Authorities, Health etc), voluntary and international institutions. The intention is to make multiple awards covering a range of different initiatives.
- A Modern Slavery Innovation Fund (MSIF), open to bids from
- external project implementers, to test innovative programmes to reduce the prevalence of modern slavery;
- contribute to the body of evidence of what works;
- help to identify which interventions might be scaled up.
- A Child Trafficking Protection Fund (CTPF) that will enable the delivery of new and innovative projects or initiatives to provide positive outcomes for potentially trafficked children.
