The Community Foundation has announced applications for Newcastle Building Society Community Fund to support the work of charitable organisations based in Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham, Teesside and North Yorkshire.
Themes
- Food Poverty: Helping the communities achieve food security.
- Sustainability Environment: Helping the communities reduce their carbon impact through energy conservation; supporting biodiversity and conservation.
- Work and Opportunity: Developing regional talent and the opportunity to access decent work for those less advantaged in the communities
- Homelessness: Supporting projects to end housing insecurity and reduce homelessness in the communities.
- Debt Management: Supporting access to information, guidance and advice for those most in need to build financial capability and sustainability in the communities.

- Max Grant Size: £5000
Eligibility Criteria
- In addition to the Community Foundation’s funding criteria, the Newcastle Building Society Community Fund has the following criteria:
- Charitable organisation must be based within the Northeast of England, Cumbria or North Yorkshire within a 10 mile radius of a Newcastle Building Society branch.
- Organisations must have an annual income of less than £1m.
