Do you have a capital project that will enrich lives in your rural community? If so, then apply for the Farm Credit Canada (FCC) AgriSpirit Fund to support projects in communities of less than 150,000 people by charities, non-profit groups, and First Nations, Métis or Inuit governments/communities.
Funding Information
- Funding available per project: $5,000 – $25,000
Eligible Projects
Types of projects they consider:
- Refrigeration and equipment to support food waste reduction and recovery
- Construction of or upgrades to community buildings
- Renovations or upgrades that reduce a building’s energy footprint
- Greenhouses and community gardens
- Initiatives that support agriculture and food
Eligibility Criteria
- Projects taking place in communities under 150,000 people
- Charities registered with the Canada Revenue Agency
- Non-profit organizations who partner with a municipal body, territorial or provincial government or registered charity; Non-profit organizations who partner with a First Nations, Métis or Inuit government/community; the partner must agree to receive the contributed money
- Town, city, rural municipality, or First Nations, Métis or Inuit government/community
- Capital projects that enrich the lives of community residents and will be completed within two years of receiving FCC funding.
- Organizations that have not received AgriSpirit funding in the past five years
- Note: FCC employees and their immediate family members cannot apply on behalf of an organization
Ineligible
NOT eligible for funding:
- Projects taking place in communities over 150,000 people
- Religious groups
- Political groups
- Individuals
- For-profit entities
- Operating costs or debt reduction
- Organizations that have received FCC AgriSpirit funding in the past five years
- Organizations that do not pass FCC’s background check
