The Armidale Regional Council’s Community Small Grants program is now open for applications of up to $3000 per group or organisation.
Normally offered twice a year however the 2022/23 round of funding has been consolidated into one round before a review of the council’s grant process is undertaken and relaunched in the second half of this year.
The small grants supports groups and services within their local government area to address identified needs within their regional community.
The Community Small Grants Program aims to:
- Provide local community groups financial support to implement or continue programs and initiatives that are considered beneficial to the Armidale Regional Council Local Government Area (ARC LGA).
- Support, foster and encourage collaboration between groups and organisations within the ARC LGA.
- Support and or contribute towards the goals outlined in Council’s Community Strategic Plan.
- Provide seed-funding support for programs which have specific and long-lasting benefits to the community.
- Foster equal access opportunities to all community groups.
- Encourage inclusion and social enrichment through contribution to the local community.
Funding Information
- $3,000.00 is the maximum amount that can be applied for under the Community Small Grants Program.
Application Conditions
- Applications must be made on the Community Small Grants Application Form.
- Applications should be typed wherever possible.
- All questions in the application form must be addressed.
- A full acquittal of grant funds must be completed, within two months of the project completion. The due date of acquittal is included in the application form. (Failure to do so may render the applicant ineligible for future rounds).
- It is up to individual applicants to ensure they complete the acquittal document and return it by the specified date.
- Projects must be undertaken within the Armidale Regional Council Local Government Area.
- Applications must detail the benefits to the ARC LGA community. Demonstrate that their activity or program provides direct benefits to the Armidale Regional community and outline the aims and objectives of the project or activity and identify who the target population is, as per the application form.
- Demonstrate to what extent their project meets an identified need, targets disadvantaged residents, or addresses issues that concern the Armidale Regional community.
- Demonstrate how their target population will directly benefit from the proposed activity or project.
- Be a not-for-profit organisation.
- Provide a brief outline on how the program has been developed and when the program will be delivered.
- Demonstrate community support for the program or activity.
- Be cost effective.
- Incorporate sound management practices including planning to achieve the relevant outcomes.
Ineligible Applicants
- Individuals.
- Organisations which are the responsibility of the state and federal governments or who already receive nongovernment funding.
- Profit-making organisations and commercial ventures.
- Groups already receiving substantial support from Council.
- Applicants who have not acquitted previous grants.
- Applicants who fail to address the Application Conditions.
