The “la Caixa” Foundation has launched the Art for Change Call 2023 to encourage the participation of groups in situations of vulnerability in creative processes of different artistic disciplines to promote cohesion and social inclusion.
Through this annual call, they offer support and support to artists and cultural entities from all over Spain that promote artistic projects in which vulnerable groups or people from the same environment participate.
With these initiatives they promote access to art and culture under equal conditions and opportunities, and they contribute to the empowerment of people through participation in creation processes linked to the plastic arts, photography, video, music, theater, circus, dance or literature.
Objectives
- The purpose of the Art for Change call is to promote creation projects led by artists that involve the active participation of groups in vulnerable situations or people from the same environment or neighborhood with the aim of favoring processes of social transformation.
Funding Information
- The Art for Change call offers:
- A grant of no more than €25,000 gross to carry out the project, which may not exceed 75% of the total cost of the project.
Eligibility Criteria
- Artists, equipment, institutions or cultural entities that promote creation processes led by an artist or group of artists may apply to this call.
- The main disciplines of the projects presented can be plastic arts, theatre, circus, dance, photography, video, music and literature, and can also constitute interdisciplinary proposals.
- At the time of submitting to this call, artists, equipment, institutions or cultural entities must also take into account the following:
- Only one project can be submitted to this call.
- It is not possible to present the same project through an individual request from the artist and, at the same time, through a request from a facility, institution or cultural entity with which the project will be carried out. There can only be one application per project.
- If the application is submitted by an artist, and the equipment, institution or cultural entity with which they collaborate already has a valid agreement with Art for Change, the new application will be rejected (whether it is the same project or a different one). It will also be rejected if the request is submitted by the equipment, institution or cultural entity and it is the artist who has the current agreement.
- Each artist, facility, institution or cultural entity must have correctly justified aid granted by the”la Caixa” Foundation in previous years.
- Entities of a social nature may not submit projects to this call, but may do so in the calls for social projects of the”la Caixa” Foundation.
