Deadline: 1-Feb-23
The New Brunswick Arts Board (artsnb) and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) have partnered on an artist residency program to provide professional artists with the opportunity to pursue a oneto-three month creation-based or professional development residency in the province of Québec.
Artists participating in this program enjoy complete autonomy and define the objectives of their period of residence and elaborate the parameters and conditions governing its realization in collaboration with an arts or community organization in the territory where the period of residence is to take place.
The program reflects the desire of artsnb to offer New Brunswick writers and artists a new career development opportunity and to continue its productive collaboration with the arts councils of neighbouring provinces.
The Creative Residencies program is designed to:
- Encourage artists to develop their skills by giving them access to a stimulating new cultural environment;
- Promote the exchange of artistic views and contribute to the establishment of lasting ties between artists in Québec and New Brunswick; and
- Strengthen ties between creators and communities and identify new artistic creation, production and presentation networks.
