Priorities
- Higher priority
- community match fund (groups who demonstrate that 40% of project costs have already been met, including the approximate value provided by volunteer contribution to projects, events and /or initiatives).
- projects that demonstrate smokefree, vapefree, and zero waste programmes.
- new and innovative projects/activities to support the delivery of the outcomes and priorities id in the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board Grants Programme.
- Projects that are inclusive and support under-represented members ofthe community.
- projects/activities with Maori outcomes.
- projects and events with wide community benefit.
- initiatives that promote climate resilience, sustainability, and environmental activities in our communities.
- projects that align with the focus areas outlined in the Devonport-Takapuna Ethnic Communities Plan.
- projects, events and activities that are contained in Devon port-Takapu na Local Board strategic documents and centre plans
- Lower priorities
- event management costs and fees for professional and specialised services.
- groups and/or activities taking place outside the local board area, u nless the
- applicant can clearly demonstrate the benefit to local board residents.
- coaching and training.
- applicants who have already had one successful Devonport-Takapuna Local Board contestable grant application.
- community events that have commercial sponsorship
- consent and permitting fees.
Eligible Projects
- Types of projects funded by the grant
Eligibility Criteria
- community organisations with a formal legal structure
- groups or individuals with no formal legal structure can apply for up to $1,000 (Kaipatiki Local Board will not fund individuals)
- applicants seeking funding over $1,000 will need to nominate an umbrella organisation or
- can apply, be accepted and be reimbursed after the project is completed.
Ineligibility Criteria
- The Devonport-Takapuna Local Board will not fund:
- wages and salaries for ongoing administration.
- events which clearly benefit the region rather than just the local area, and which can, therefore, apply for regional or central government grants.
- retrospective costs, unless this is necessary as a condition of the grant, or the local board is satisfied that there are mitigating circumstances.
- groups which have failed to meet accountability obligations from previous Council grants will not be funded except in exceptional circumstance, and/or by stipulating that completing accountability is a condition of grant payment.
- gifts/prizes.
- initiatives that are eligible and can be funded by central government.
- applications towards alcohol or liquor licenses.
