Deadline: 8-Feb-23
Auckland Zoo Conservation Fund Small Grants Programme is now open for ongoing projects or pilot programmes which have clear conservation value.
The intent of this programme is to help provide relatively small levels of funding for ongoing projects or pilot programmes with clear conservation value – please make sure your project qualify. Many applications are rejected at this first hurdle because their project has a value greater than NZD $20,000.
Saving New Zealand’s one hundred (and fifty) most threatened species – or thereabouts!
In its centennial year, Auckland Zoo is partnering with Barfoot & Thompson to support innovative conservation initiatives for Aotearoa New Zealand’s most endangered species. Applications should focus on projects conserving one of 150 priorities threatened and at risk species listed in DOC’s Threatened Species Strategy or similarly threatened species with supporting justification. Priority will be given to poorly known and/or unsupported species for which these grants could make a significant difference to their recovery.
Funding Information
Small grants will be awarded up to a maximum of NZD$5,000. However, in most cases, successful grants will be in the region of NZD$2,000 – $4,000. The amount applied for through the programme should represent a minimum of 25% of the project’s overall budget.
Eligibility Criteria
The Auckland Zoo Conservation Fund invites applications for small projects (less than NZ$20,000 total cost) from New Zealand that meet the above threatened criteria.
