The Shire of Augusta Margaret River is inviting applications for the Augusta Family Day Care Support Grant.
The Augusta Family Day Care Support Grant is a newly established grant fund for individuals looking to establish a family day care business in Augusta and surrounding communities.
This funding supports the Council's objectives of helping to facilitate childcare services for families living in the Augusta area.
Purpose
Grant funding for the establishment of family day care services in Augusta and the surrounding communities, with funding to cover a range of set up costs relating to potential family day care operators’ outgoings including licensing, equipment and minor modifications.
Funding Information
Grant up to a maximum of $10,000 inc GST.
Purpose of Funding
Funding may be provided to support applications for:
- Establishment costs including specific requirements as outlined in the National Quality Framework for items including alterations for safety requirements, toys, furniture and equipment.
- Minimum Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care (completed, enrolled or equivalent).
- Costs incurred to obtain National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check, First Aid Certificate (HLTAID004).
- Local Government approvals (planning or building permit and food business registration)
- Insurance requirements for family day care.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applications from individuals looking to establish a family day care business.
- Family day care service provision within Augusta and surrounding districts including Kudardup, Karridale, Leeuwin, Hamelin Bay, Deepdene, Courtenay, Scott River, East Augusta and Molloy Island.
- New Family Day Care applications or applications in progress (not approved before 24 August 2022).
- Applications that successfully meet the grant guidelines.
Evaluation Criteria
- Application meets the grant eligibility and guidelines.
- Strategic alignment – applications align with Council’s objectives of facilitating childcare services for Augusta and surrounding districts.
Grant Limitations
The maximum grant available to any individual in the Family Day Care Support funding stream will not exceed $10,000 inc GST.
Funding will not be provided for:
- Recurrent costs
- Ongoing maintenance works
