Entries are now open for the Canon Oceania Grants Program 2023 to celebrate the 50th year in Australia, Canon is giving away $50,000 in grants across Australia.
Available Grants
- Community Grant valued at AU$5,000
- Open to any project or organisation that has a positive impact on communities, cultural and societal causes. The winner will receive $2,500 cash, and Canon Product valued up to $2,500.
- Education Grant valued at AU$5,000
- Open to schools and other educational centres for children and adults alike. The winner will receive $2,500 cash, and Canon Product valued up to $2,500.
- Environment Grant valued at AU$5,000
- Open to not-for-profits and organisations dedicated to raising awareness of the protection of the environment or promoting sustainable practices. The winner will receive $2,500 cash, and Canon Product valued up to $2,500.
- Overall Grant (Content Development Package) valued at AU$10,000
- In addition to the Category Grants, the overall winner (category winner with the highest total amount of votes for their entry) will also receive a Content Development Package valued at up to $10,000. This may include videography, photography, editing, or studio hire and will be determined in collaboration with the winner depending on the needs of the project.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be an individual Australian resident, entering on behalf of a group or an Australian legal entity.
- Applicants must only submit one (1) Application per grant category.
- Canon recommends that Applicants retain a copy of their Applications as they will not be returned.
- Canon will judge each Application based on the proposed impact of the project and its uniqueness, and the importance of the Category Grant and the Canon Product to realising the project’s success, in its sole discretion.
- During the Voting Period, members of the public may vote for their favourite Entry. Each visitor may vote for as many Entries as they like but may only vote once for each Entry.
- Judges will select the top three entries in each category, which will then go through to a public vote, so the wider Canon community can have their say! The top three finalists will be selected based on the environmental and social merits of their organisation, as well as the importance of Canon technology in ensuring their initiative’s success.
- Finalists must not attempt to obtain votes for their Entry by any fraudulent or improper means, whether directly or indirectly. Those means may include:
- offering remuneration, compensation, payment, or other inducements to any person; or
- using automated functions to submit, solicit, or garner votes.
