The Australian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City is seeking applications for its Australian Government Direct Aid (DAP) program for Central Vietnam projects and South Vietnam in 2017-18.
The Australian government spends up to A $ 20,000 (US $ 15,000) in grants to other non-governmental organizations, community groups and non-profit organizations so that they can implement projects. Small scale development towards the goal of promoting economic development for disadvantaged communities.
The Direct Aid Program (DAP) is a flexible small grants program funded by the Australian Government which aims to address humanitarian hardship through funding small-scale community-based development projects. The DAP for southern Vietnam (provinces from Danang to Ca Mau) is managed and disbursed by the Australian Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City.
Priorities
- Projects that directly support sustainable development, including those which aim to improve gender equality, women’s economic empowerment, healthcare, sustainable income generation, environmental protection, education, poverty relief and human rights for marginalised groups.
- Small-scale community focussed projects – in which the beneficiaries are involved in the project design, development and implementation.
- Projects that will be completed in a short timeframe
- Projects that include a contribution from the local community (funds, land, time, etc.)
Funding Information
DAP focusses on small-scale grants, mostly up to USD 15,000. Some programs with a larger budget may be considered by the DAP Committee
