The Australian Embassy in Cambodia is seeking expression of interests (EOIs) for its Direct Aid Program (DAP) which is a flexible, small grants program funded from Australia’s aid budget and managed by individual DFAT overseas posts.
The overall purpose of the DAP is to assist developing countries to reduce poverty and assist in sustainable development. Funding is available to individuals, community groups and NGOs engaged in development activities on a not-for-profit basis.
Funding Information
In 2017/18, the Australian Embassy offers DAP grants up to maximum of AUD 45,000.
Activities
DAP projects aim to achieve practical and tangible outcomes that contribute to poverty reduction. This includes activities related to:
- Community health improvement
- Agriculture development
- Sustainable rural livelihood for income generation activities,
- Disability inclusiveness
- Small-scale infrastructure
- Support for schools/education at community level
- Youth development
- Child protection
- Ending violence against women
- Gender equity
- Human rights
- Culture/ heritage preservation
- Environmental issue (including climate change), and
- Ad-hoc humanitarian responses.
Eligibility Criteria
- International and local non-government organisations or institutions legally registered in Cambodia or private sector who involves in community development are welcome to apply.
- Organisations or institutions applying for funding for the first time should provide proof of their recognition by the Cambodian authorities.
