The Australian Embassy is currently inviting interested organisations to submit applications for grants under the Direct Aid Program (DAP).
DAP is a flexible small grants program funded from Australia’s aid budget. The Mongolia DAP aligns with the overall purpose of Australia’s aid program to contribute towards economic growth and poverty reduction.
In 2018-19, the Mongolia DAP will aim to fund projects in the following sectors:
- Health with a focus on rural and community health, combating communicable diseases, cancer, emergency and distance medicine, medical services for minorities;
- Human rights and good governance focusing on the, disability inclusiveness, LGBTI community empowering minorities, and eliminating discrimination;
- Disaster prevention and response;
- Ending domestic violence, protecting women and children, and eliminating gender inequality;
- Education with a focus on access for people with disabilities, disadvantaged adults and children, and children with special needs;
- Agriculture and environment with a focus on diversification of livelihoods, extending growing seasons, and animal health; and
- Sports for development with a focus on promoting social inclusion and youth development.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applications will be considered from local and international non-governmental organisations (NGOs), national and local government agencies and other not-for-profit organisations. All applications must demonstrate that they are not-for-profit. Applications from individuals will not be considered.
- Proposals that have received grants, or applied for grants, from other donors are not eligible for DAP funding, unless
- the DAP funding is for a stand-alone component of a broader activity that is explicitly excluded from other sources of funding OR
- the DAP funding seeks to build a strategic partnership that enhances the sustainability and impact of the activity.
- Microcredit schemes, purchase of land and vehicles, recurrent costs including staff salary and non-related administrative expenses, commercial ventures and activities with direct support from government (noting exceptions above) are not eligible for DAP funding.
