The Sophie and Karl Binding Foundation is now inviting proposals for its grant program to support projects in the sections of Environment, Social Work and Culture.
Sectors
- Environment
- In terms of environmental promotion, the Binding Foundation supports projects aimed at promoting biodiversity and enhancing high-quality landscaped spaces. Furthermore, with the “Binding Award for Biodiversity”, they are supporting a major operational project in the field of brokerage of exemplary projects.
- Social Work
- As part of the promotion of sociability, the Binding Foundation is committed to social cohesion and equal opportunities in Switzerland. It has an eye for the integration of children and adolescents as well as for the strengthening of social participation and exchanges between linguistic regions. At an operational level, they are engaged in strategic partnerships [links to projects] and in the project for exchanges between choirs ” EchangeChoeurs “.
- Culture
- In the promotion of culture, the Binding Foundation strives to ensure the lasting preservation of architectural monuments. It also sponsors high-level artistic activity carried out on a professional basis in selected sectors of music, dance and the visual arts. It also encourages individual experience of artists’ work and creation as well as architectural cultural heritage, and their enjoyment by a large audience.
What they Support?
- You can send them your requests for support in the following fields of action: biodiversity and landscape, inclusion of children and adolescents, cohesion, cultural heritage – architectural monuments and the arts – early music.
- They will be happy to receive your requests for collaboration for their Binding Sélection d’Artistes and Binding First Dance programs
- They look forward to your inquiry and are also always open to out-of-the-ordinary design ideas.
What they don’t Support?
- Project types
- Projects taking place outside Switzerland
- Fundraising actions and general donation campaigns
- Festivals, jubilees, open days
- Conferences, seminars, congresses, cycles of events
- Contributions for diploma work/dissertations, scholarships
- Research and publications without concrete application potential
- Subsidies for publications, films
- Exhibitions (except within the framework of their Binding Sélection d’Artistes promotion programme)
- Recipients
- Individuals, families, schools
- Profit-oriented companies (SA, limited liability company, sole proprietorship)
- Federal and cantonal authorities
- Fundraising organizations (i.e. large charitable organizations that invite a large number of people to participate in fundraisers every year)
- Financial aspects
Criteria
- When one of the denial criteria clearly applies, they are unable to promote your project. In that case, they advise against making the commitment to apply. If you are unsure whether an opt-out criterion applies to your project.
- They accept grant applications relating to the areas of promoting the integration of children and adolescents and social cohesion.
- They welcome requests for support in the field of architectural monuments and early music.
