Deadline: 9 June 2017
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland will grant a discretionary government transfer to support developing country representatives’ participation in a high-level international human rights education programme to be organised in 2017.
Supporting the organisation of an international human rights education programme is expected to contribute to the strengthening the monitoring and implementation of human rights in developing and transition countries.
The discretionary government transfer for which applications can now be submitted is aimed at supporting the participation of people from developing countries, preferably post-graduate students, in a training course for experts to be organised in Finland. The course may include a few weeks’ research work period, organised by the recipient of the discretionary government transfer, tailored for these students.
Priority Areas
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs, which grants the transfer, will lay special emphasis on the following issues:
- The quality of the work plan. The work plan must describe the content of the programme and determine how it will be organised, specify the recruitment and selection process, and provide an account of how the project will be organised without any extra expenses or obligations for the Foreign Ministry arising from the stay of the sponsored persons in Finland;
- Experience of organising high-quality human rights education and training and familiarity of the content, priorities and approaches of Finland’s foreign and human rights policy.
- The significance of the human rights education and training from the point of view of the Government Report on Development Policy and the Human Rights Strategy of the Foreign Service.
Funding Information
The amount reserved for the intended purpose is maximum EUR 45,000. The education and training programme must be carried out in the course of 2017 in one or several modules.
