The Malaysian Red Crescent is excited to announce an opportunity for organisations passionate about making a difference in community health. The MRCS is looking for dedicated grant counterparts to collaborate on the Health Outreach Project.
The Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) is disbursing grants to counterparts for the Health Equity and Empowerment for all Populations (HEEAP) Project, an initiative under the Health and Vaccination Team of the MRCS National Health Committee (NHC). This project is funded by the Malaysia-United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Trust Fund (Malaysia-UN SDG Trust Fund).
The HEEAP Project was initiated to address the healthcare challenges faced by underserved communities in Peninsular Malaysia, particularly refugees, migrants, displaced persons, Orang Asli and homeless communities. The project will include health outreach services, capacity building of community health workers, awareness workshops, health camps, case management, and research.
Funding Information
- The maximum total amount of funds that the selected Grant Counterpart may receive is RM414,000.
- The Grant Counterpart will be expected to commit to the entire project duration of 1 August 2024 to 31 October 2025.
Roles of the Grant Counterpart
- The Grant Counterpart will be selected by MRCS as a partner to implement programs and activities of the HEEAP Project. Specific tasks of the Grant Counterpart include:
- On-site support during programs, including language interpretation and research data collection (170 program days);
- Case management for refugees and migrants in areas of health, legal, sexual and gender-based violence, work rights, among others (18 months);
- Food arrangements for outreach programs, health services, trainings and workshops, meetings, recce visits, etc. (185 program days, 30 pax each day);
- Financial and narrative reports to be submitted according to deadlines specified in the agreement between the Grant Counterpart and MRCS; and
- Any additional support services the Grant Counterpart can provide.
- Programmatic activities will be planned by MRCS, and details of scheduling and location will be provided to the Grant Counterpart for its implementation of the above tasks.
Eligibility Criteria
- Any organizations interested may apply, subject to the following criteria:
- Delivery of all the above services;
- Commitment to delivery of services during the project duration;
- A registered entity in Malaysia (to submit certificate as proof of establishment);
- Established and in operation for more than three (3) years;
- Willing to undergo due diligence requirements set by MRCS.
