The British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur is inviting bids project proposals to focus and look for opportunities to support work on good governance in Malaysia including democratic reform and anti-corruption initiatives.
The bids invited are for the 2023/24 Programme Fund (PF). They are looking to support efforts in this area by government agencies, civil society organisations, research-based organisations, and multilateral partners.
Focus Areas
- They are particularly interested in project proposals that aim to deliver in the following areas:
- assess opportunities to assist government bodies and key institutions to improve governance processes and structures;
- support political financing reform and transparency;
- support parliamentary reform;
- capacity-building and advocacy to improve the public’s understanding of democratic processes;
- increase cooperation between policy makers and civil society on improving transparency, accountability and good governance in Malaysia;
- capacity- building and advocacy to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of anti-corruption efforts.
Funding Information
- Projects to run from 1 August 2023 to 31 March 2024, with no expectation of funding beyond this period.
- Maximum budget limit: £20,000.
Assessment
- Bids will be assessed against the following criteria:
- Alignment with the aims and description;
- Outcomes are achievable and measurable within the funding period;
- Project design includes clear monitoring and evaluation procedures;
- Risk and financial accountability procedures;
- The organisation’s safeguarding policies, that ensure protection of beneficiaries;
- Feasibility of project delivery under current circumstances;
- Overall value for money.
- Project implementer must have:
- Experience and expertise in project management;
- Ability to work collaboratively and engage with relevant stakeholders;
- Ability to produce clear, concise and high quality project reporting in English.
