To support in the execution of food systems, the World Food Programme (WFP) is inviting organizations to submit their Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for enhancing food security and climate resilience, as it seeks experienced organizations with operational presence and volatile exposure in food systems.
The intervention aims to strengthen climate-smart agricultural practices, improve water access, and enhance community capacity through essential inputs and training. Additionally, the project will support 40 women street vendors selling meat and milk through equipment distribution and capacity-building initiatives Under the Climate Food Systems portfolio.

Expected Results
- Improved Food Security and Agricultural Productivity: Enhanced production and sustainability for 385 agro-pastoral households through climate-smart practices, seeds, tools, and improved water access.
- Enhanced Capacity for Sustainable Practices: Increased knowledge of GAP and PHLM, pest control, organic fertilizers (compost making), financial literacy, market integration, record keeping and SBCC among agro-pastoral communities.
- Increased Water Access: Reliable water supply for agricultural activities via storage tanks and extended pipelines, boosting resilience against drought.
- Better Hygiene and Meat Quality: Improved meat quality and hygiene for 20 women vendors, enhancing safety and income.
- Better Quality Milk: Improved milk quality through the distribution of 40 stainless steel milk cans for 20 women vendors, enhancing safety and income.
- Financial Empowerment: VSLA training and financial literacy for women vendors, enabling better business management and economic stability.
- Community Ownership and Sustainability: Community-led maintenance of agricultural resources and infrastructure, ensuring long-term impact and resilience.
- Empower Water Source: Through the distribution of 2 sets of Solar panels to each of the target farms in Adado and rehabilitation of 2 boreholes in the district.
