The Kosovo Country Support Mechanism (CSM) of Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF) has announced a Call for Expressions of Interest from Kosovar organisations to become a Principal Recipient (PR) of funding from GCERF’s Core Funding Mechanism (CFM).
Focus Areas
- The following specific demographic/population groups: returnees, prisoners, youth, and teachers and parents.
- The specific geographic locations of the Districts of Gjilan, Ferizaj, Mitrovica, Pristina, and Prizren.
- Addressing the following drivers/factors of radicalisation to violent extremism: socio-economic, perceived grievances stemming from the Syrian conflict, an attraction to power and influence, and the challenges posed by the criminal justice system.
Funding Information
- The GCERF Governing Board approved the pre-allocation of up to USD 1.5 million.
- Funding will be available for grants of up to three years in duration and commencing in 2018.
Eligibility Criteria
GCERF has two prerequisites and five required capabilities for the role of Principal Recipient:
- Prerequisites
- Appropriate legal registration
- Willingness to accept and fulfil the role of a Principal Recipient
- Required Capabilities
- Established relationships and credibility with the communities and population groups in the geographical areas identified in the Call.
- Experience and capacity in programme design and management, and project cycle management.
- Experience and capacity in financial management and in the management of and accounting for international donor grant funding.
- Experience and capacity in working within a Consortium and/or managing subrecipients.
- Experience and capacity in community-level initiatives that address the local drivers of violent extremism and strengthen resilience against violent extremist agendas.
