The King Baudouin Foundation is offering grants to support scientific research on Parkinson’s disease at French universities and research centres in Wallonia and Brussels.
The Fund Jacqueline Cigrang supports fundamental research projects aimed at improving the understanding of the pathophysiological mechanisms contributing to the development and progression of Parkinson’s disease (including parkinsonism). Projects submitted should offer a perspective on research into disease-modulating treatments.
Funding Information
- A total budget of maximum € 170.000 is available for this call to support 1 project.
- Support can be used for all categories of costs related to the project.
- No overhead can be deduced from grants up to € 50.000. For higher amounts, the overhead cannot exceed 17%.
Eligibility Criteria
- Organizations
- The Foundation will only fund not-for-profit organizations. For-profit organizations (e.g. pharmaceutical companies) can be part of a research team but are excluded from funding.
- Main applicant
- The call is open to researchers and health professionals in Wallonia and Brussels with a demonstrated interest and scientific track record in Parkinson’s disease.
- The applicant has obtained at least a doctoral degree.
- Projects granted in 2023 in the framework of a call of the KBF are not eligible for this call.
- Scientific support
- The main applicant is supported by a head of department.
- Location
- The project is initiated and coordinated in a French institute located in Wallonia or Brussels.
- Collaboration
- Collaborative projects are encouraged, i.e. collaboration between teams and/or between researchers from different disciplines and perspectives.
- Projects that involve collaboration between different research centres must be initiated and coordinated by a team based in Flanders or Brussels.
- Costs incurred by institutes other than French institutes located in Wallonia or Brussels are excluded from funding.
