The UNDP Timor-Leste through its Arafura and Timor Seas Ecosystems Action Programme phase 2 (ATSEA-2) is seeking proposals from duly qualified registered Local Non-Governmental Organizations and Community Based Organizations (NGOs/CBOs) to submit proposals towards implementation of the specific activities related to the Integrated Coastal Management Plan for Uma Bosco in Manatuto Municipality.
ATSEA-2 focuses on supporting the implementation of the endorsed strategic action program (SAP), a 10-year vision for the Arafura Timor Seas ,with the long-term objective “to promote sustainable development of the Arafura-Timor Seas region to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants through restoration, conservation and sustainable management of marine-coastal ecosystems”.
Objectives
The main objective of this call for proposals is to provide a low value grant (LVG) to competent non-governmental organization/civil society organization and/or Community Based Organization in implementation of activities under the Integrated Coastal Management Plan for Uma Boco/Post Administrative Barique in Manatuto Municipality with an aim to strengthen management of marine coastal resources in a holistic/integrated approach.
Funding Information
The maximum amount of the award grant is $60,000 for a period of one year.
Eligibility Criteria
- Organization
- A minimum of 2-3 years working experience in operating locally in the field of Integrated Coastal Management (ICM), environment and natural resources management, mangroves restoration, ecotourism development, or a closely related development field.
- Project Team
- Should have at least two qualified natural resource managers, with a minimum of 2-3 years of working experience in Timor-Leste.
- Excellent knowledge of the Timorese laws and legal system and experience working with local communities, other community-based organizations on coastal resources management projects in Timor-Leste.
- Previous experience working with UNDP, other UN entities, donor organizations or development organizations in the field of marine conservation, natural resources management, ecotourism development, mangroves restoration, is an asset; and
- Strong case management, monitoring, and reporting experience
- Head of NGO/CSO/CBO
- Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, managing, and monitoring programs and projects; and
- Demonstrated experience of effectively and efficiently managing finance with accountability and transparency
- Language: Fluency in Tetum and English (both oral and written).
