The Norwegian Partnership Programme for Global Academic Cooperation (NORPART) announces up to NOK 145 million in grants to project partnerships.
In addition, projects can apply for a limited number of full degree master’s scholarships in Norway for students from the institutions in the partner countries.
Purpose
- The purpose of NORPART is to contribute towards enhancing the quality of higher education in Norway and selected partner countries, through academic cooperation and mutual student mobility.
- Desired Impact:
- Enhanced quality of higher education in Norway and in the partner countries
- Qualified candidates with knowledge and skills relevant for the local employment market, who can contribute to solving local and global challenges.
Objectives
- To reach overall purpose and desired impact, the programme shall fulfill four objectives:
- Strengthened partnerships for education and research between partner countries and Norway.
- Increased quality and internationalisation of academic programmes at participating institutions.
- Increased mobility of students from the partner countries to Norway, including mobility in connection with work placements.
- Increased mobility of students from Norway to partner countries including mobility in connection with work placements.
- The project’s planned results will be assessed based on their ability to contribute to generating such impacts.
Funding Information
- You can apply for up to NOK 6 million per project for a period of up to five years.
- Additionally, projects can apply for a limited number of full degree master’s scholarships, with a fixed amount of NOK 400 000, – over a period of 2 years per student.
What can the funding be used for?
- The funding you apply for from HK-dir can be used to cover the following types of costs:
- Personnel and administration costs
- Procurement costs for services
- Procurement costs for equipment
- Master’s and PhD Scholarships
- Travel and accommodation costs
- Other project-related costs.
Activities
- Activities that can be supported (but not limited to) are:
- Joint curriculum development
- Joint development of courses, study programmes and degrees
- Development of educational methods and materials (including digitalisation)
- Improvement of systems for approval and recognition of education from partner institutions (credit transfer)
- Dissemination activities
- Student participation in research activities/projects
- Joint teaching and supervision, incl. guest lecturing
- Joint project assignment for students
- Joint field courses, intensive courses, and summer schools
- Joint workshops/seminars.
Student Mobility
- NORPART supports high quality student mobility that contributes to achieving the overall aim of enhanced quality in higher education. NORPART focuses on master’s students. It is also possible to fund some PhD activities. Student mobility at bachelor level cannot be funded by the programme. Types of student mobility supported:
- Physical student mobility: short or long-term academic stays or work placements in Norway or partner country institution/ organisation.
- Virtual student mobility: mobility that uses information and communication technologies to facilitate academic exchange between NORPART institutions.
- Hybrid (blended) mobility: combines elements of both physical and virtual mobility.
Target Groups
- Higher education institutions in Norway and the partner countries.
- Master’s and PhD students in Norway and in the partner countries.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be an accredited Norwegian higher education institution
- The application must include at least one partner that is an accredited higher education institution in one of the NORPART partner countries.
Requirements
- The application must meet the following minimum requirements:
- The application must be submitted by the deadline applicable to the call.
- The application must be submitted through the HK-dir application portal Espresso .
- The application must be written in English.
- The application must be submitted on behalf of an accredited higher education institution in Norway.
- The application must include at least one partner that is an accredited higher education institution in a NORPART partner country.
- The application must include Letters of Commitment from all project partners.
- The application must include a signed version of HK-dir’s declaration of participation from the person in the applicant organisation with administrative responsibility for the application.
- Applications that do not meet these requirements may be rejected or considered incomplete.
- Applications with errors will be given a short additional deadline to correct such errors where possible. The content of attachments/links that are not a requirement will not be included in the assessment of the application.
