The Indigenous Advisory and Monitoring Committee for the Trans Mountain Expansion and Existing Pipeline (IAMC-TMX) Call for Proposals invites Indigenous communities along the route to access up to $49,999 in funding for projects related to TMX.
Tribal Councils or Not-For-Profit organizations are also eligible to receive funding if they are applying on behalf of one or more of the 129 potentially impacted Indigenous communities.
The Call for Proposals has a streamlined application process that makes it easier for communities to complete and that will also allow for funds to be quickly disbursed.
Streams
Communities will be able to apply through one of four streams:
- Emergency Management
- Indigenous Monitoring
- Marine Shipping
- Socio-Economic Effects
Focus Areas
Each stream has three possible areas of focus:
- Planning activities
- Equipment purchase and training
- Skills development
Funding Information
This Call for Proposal is limited to $49,999 per community; therefore, applicants must select one of two options (not both) to access funding:
- Submit an application of no more than $49,999 for a single eligible community, or
- Submit an application for multiple communities, where the total funding request does not exceed $49,999 per community. For example, the maximum funding request for two communities is $99,998; for three communities – $149,997; for four communities – $199,996, etc.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible Recipients of the funding are the 129 Indigenous communities potentially impacted by the Trans Mountain Expansion Project. Tribal Councils or Not-For-Profit organizations are also eligible to receive funding if they are applying on behalf of the 129 potentially impacted Indigenous communities.
