Peru and Bolivia have been jointly implementing the Integrated Management Project of Water Resources in the TDPS System, financed by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), with an execution period of four years. This project is conceptualized as a catalyst that will contribute to:
- building a common vision on the basis of the integral management of water resources,
- establish common planning to guide actions at the binational, national and local levels, and
- mobilize and incorporate key actors in the integrated management of the system.
Components
The project is structured in four components:
- Component 1: will develop an integrated diagnosis of the current situation in a participatory way of the TDPS and an updated Master Plan agreed by both countries to guide the actions of conservation and sustainable use of water resources and biodiversity of the system of the TDPS.
- Component 2: will implement 11 pilot projects that generate learning for the management of TDPS resources. During the execution of the pilot projects, the development of lessons learned for replication elsewhere in the TDPS.
- Component 3: will contribute to consolidating a comprehensive TDPS monitoring program that is accessible to local technicians and actors.
- Component 4: will contribute to building human and social capital through actions of environmental educational communication and citizen participation and coordination in support of management comprehensive water resources.
Objectives
- General Objective
- Prepare the proposal for the Binational System for the Comprehensive Environmental Monitoring of the TDPS Water System.
- Specific Objectives
- Identify and evaluate the actions, initiatives and / or systems for monitoring biodiversity, resources water, fishery resources and hydrometeorological information within the scope of the TDPS System.
- Identify and prioritize key indicators for environmental monitoring of the TDPS water system, which minimally consider monitoring of biodiversity, water resources, fisheries resources and hydrometeorological information.
- Design a model of the environmental monitoring system, which must include order mechanisms operational, administrative and financial that supports it in the long term.
Eligibility Criteria
- About the Company
- Legal Person (consultants, universities, research centers, NGOs or consortium of companies), that accredit experience in environmental monitoring or environmental studies.
- At least five (5) studies or consultancy works at national or international level, related to water resource management and / or monitoring of natural resources and / or hydrometeorological variables and / or hydrometereological studies.
- Desirable experience of working with international cooperation organizations, preferably of the United Nations System.
- Desirable work experience in the field of the TDPS System.
- The proponent must prove the required experience through a copy of contracts or orders of services, proof of payment, proof of conformity and / or any document that allows accredit the provision of services.
- Of the Staff
- Service coordinator:
- Professional title in the area of Biology, Environmental, Chemistry, Civil Engineering (specializing in hydrology), Sanitary Engineering, Agronomy, Agriculture or Geography.
- With postgraduate studies completed on issues related to water resources management, natural, environmental management, environmental engineering and / or the like.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in jobs related to environmental management, water resource management, natural resource monitoring, hydrometeorological studies
- At least three (3) years of experience in the positions of Coordinator, Head of Studies, Head Project, or the like.
- Natural Resources and Environment Monitoring Specialist
- Professional title in the area of Biology, Environmental, Forestry, Agronomy, Agricultural, Resources Natural, Meteorology.
- Preferably with postgraduate studies in topics related to the management of biodiversity, climate change, water resource management.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in work related to monitoring or studies in natural resources, biodiversity, environmental quality and / or hydrometeorological studies.
- Geographic Information Systems Specialist
- Professional title in the area of geography, computer science, environmental, topography and / or biology.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in jobs related to Information Systems Geographic.
- Preferably with experience in hydrometric monitoring and water quality and / or resources hydric.
- Professional in Economic Sciences
- Professional title in the area of Economics, Business Administration or related
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in jobs related to administrative management and financial.
- Minimum experience of two (2) years in the formulation of programs and / or projects investment
- Desirable experience in budgeting and costs
- The proponent must prove the professionals’ experience through a copy of certificates / certificates (studies) and service contracts or orders, payment vouchers, proof of compliance and / or any document that proves the provision of the services (experience).
