Eligibility Criteria
- The Democratic Republic of Congo is experiencing a complex emergency situation, aggravated by multiple acute crises for more than two decades. More than 26 million people are in need (source: Humanitarian Needs Overview 2023), of which approximately 7.3 million are at risk of experiencing gender-based violence. The protection environment has deteriorated in the east of the country following armed and inter-community conflicts. Even if the western and central provinces of the country are not affected by armed conflicts, insecurity, inter-community conflicts related to land issues and the low status of women are risk factors for gender-based violence. .
- National or local women’s rights, young feminist, women-led or young women’s rights organizations, and organizations with a proven track record of working with women and girls are eligible to apply. Joint or consortium projects are allowed and encouraged.
- Women’s rights or feminist organization: The organization’s formal mission or vision statement should reflect its commitment to addressing multiple or intersecting forms of discrimination and advancing gender equality and women’s rights. The organization should work to transform the underlying factors/systems/structures, including patriarchy and gender power dynamics, that perpetuate gender-based violence.
- Women-led organization: Must be led by a woman as director/head of organization.
- Youth-focused organization: To be considered “youth-focused”, the fundamental mission and vision of the organization must be focused on supporting the social, economic and political participation of young women and young men and fight against multiple or intersecting forms of discrimination against young women and young men. FFPH will pay particular attention to youth-focused organizations that support young women, advance gender equality and peacebuilding.
- Young women-led organization: must be led by a young woman between the ages of 18 and 29 who acts as the organization’s director/head.
