Deadline: Ongoing Opportunity
The Edmonton Heritage Council has launched the applications for Career Development Grant that provides funding assistance (up to $4,000) for individual heritage practitioners to participate in opportunities that will result in gaining new skills and knowledge to support the development of heritage work in Edmonton.
Opportunities may include conferences, workshops, seminars, or coursework, offered in-person or online, locally or outside of Edmonton.
Funding Information
- Up to $4,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible, the applicant must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident over the age of 18 who is actively involved in heritage work in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region.
- Please download the new grant guidelines, application form, and budget form for this stream prior to making your application.
- Please note that grants are taxable income that must be reported when filing personal income taxes. EHC recommends seeking professional accounting assistance if you have questions about reporting this income.
Ineligible
- The applicant cannot already have been awarded an HCIP Career Development Grant during the calendar year and must be up to date with final reports for other HCIP-funded work, including returning any unused grant funds. Applicants who have been granted extensions on other HCIP-funded work are also not eligible to apply.
- HCIP excludes educational institutions and government-owned and/or operated facilities. Individuals employed by these institutions are also ineligible, unless they can demonstrate that the project is outside of their professional role within the organization and will be of value to the broader heritage sector.
- Career Development opportunities that are part of an ongoing educational program are not eligible at this time.
