The North Vancouver Recreation and Culture Commission is seeking applications for its Celebrations & Events Grants Program to support small and large scale events that foster community connection and that contribute to residents’ quality of life and sense of identity; the program seeks to sustain and encourage growth in existing events and to support the development of new events.
Categories
- Community Events: Community Events are typically single-day events at a local neighbourhood scale. Funding supports events that promote community connection and that contribute to residents' sense of belonging, identty and place.
- Major Celebrations: Major Celebrations are large single and multi-day events at a regional scale – events and festivals that present a significant program of cultural activities and entertainments and that serve a regional aufience from around the North Shore, metro Vancouver and farther afield.
- Arts Festivals: Arts Festivals present a coordinated program of artistically connected activities, exhibits or performances over a relatively compact schedule of events.
Funding Information
- Community Events: Grants are available up to a maximum of $4,500 or up to 40% of the proposed event budget.
- Major Celebrations: Grants are available up to a maximum of $12,500 (for one-day events) and $17,500 (for multi-day events) OR up to 30% of the proposed event budget.
- Arts Festivals: Grants are available up to a maximum of $18,500 or up to 30% of the proposed event budget.
Eligibility Criteria

Potential applicants are strongly encouraged to consult the Program Guidelines and/or to contact the Grants Officer before submitting an application. Eligible Applicants include:
- registered not-for-profit arts and culture organizations, including multi-cultural and ethno-cultural organizations
- other recognized arts groups
- community service groups
- community associations; merchants’ associations or business improvement associations
- charitable organizations, and
- other recognized community groups
