The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has launched the Climate Change Grant Programme to support Local Climate Action.
EU-TR CCGP aims to support local authorities such as municipalities, regional and provincial directorates, universities and research institutes, regional development agencies, as well as, community-based organisations, non-governmental organisations, chambers, and unions in Türkiye and EU, in their efforts to combat climate change by implementing adaptation and mitigation actions. This programme seeks to contribute to the implementation of the Paris Agreement and EU climate policies.
Objectives
- The global objective of this programme is to improve the capacity of local entities to adapt to and mitigate climate change.
- The specific objective is to enhance local climate change action planning and implementation through projects that focus on at least one of these areas:
- In line with the priorities of the existing national adaptation and mitigation action plans between 2024-2030,
- Promoting resilient and low-carbon cities,
- Implementing adaptation or mitigation actions based on existing national or local climate strategies.
Funding Information
- The total budget available for this call is EUR 14,706,000. The contracting authority reserves the right not to award all available funds.
- Size of grants
- Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts:
- Minimum amount: EUR 250.000
- Maximum amount: EUR 750.000
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligibility of the applicants
- Lead Applicant
- To qualify for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- Be a legal person, and
- Be non-profit-making, and
- Be established in a Member State of the EU or Türkiye, or in an eligible country as defined by the IPA Regulation, and
- International organizations are not eligible for this call.
- Be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the project (not acting as an intermediary), and
- Be one of the following:
- A municipality, or
- A local authority (e.g., regional or provincial directorate, special provincial administration), or
- A university or research institute/center, or
- A development agency
- To qualify for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- Co-Applicant
- Co-applicants must:
- Meet the same eligibility criteria as the lead applicant.
- In addition, below listed entities are also eligible as co-applicant(s):
- Be an NGO (e.g., association, foundation).
- Be a non-profit union or cooperative
