The European Commission (hereinafter: the Commission) through its Representation in Slovenia is publishing a call for proposals for the selection of partners for the management of EUROPE DIRECT in the period 2021-2025.
The points are actively and constantly connecting with citizens, with the aim of achieving greater affiliation with the European project. By informing and organizing events, they enable citizens to decide on the future of the EU on the basis of information and to take an active part in European democratic processes.
It contributes to a better understanding of the functioning of the EU and its parliamentary democracy and matters falling within the EU’s remit, thereby raising citizens’ awareness of how the EU benefits them in their daily lives while drawing attention to its added value.
EUROPE DIRECT helps to identify aspects of EU policies that are important at the local level and tailors messages and activities to local needs. Through awareness-raising and citizen involvement activities, they contribute to paving the way for the strategic political priorities of the Commission and Parliament.
It also listens to citizens’ responses and expectations about EU membership and provides feedback to the EU institutions.
Moreover, EUROPE DIRECT works closely with the Commission Representations and the European Parliament’s offices in all Member States. They also strive for networking and cooperation between other EU networks and contact points in Slovenia, other relevant local networks (where they exist), and promote coordination between them and the exchange of information.

- Task 3: Raising awareness of sensitive EU issues at the local level
- Task 4: The EU in schools
- Task 5: Promoting a regional network of networks
Funding Information
- The total budget earmarked for the co-financing of projects under this call for proposals for the first year of implementation (2021) amounts to EUR 158,400.00.
- The amount of the awarded grant for an individual year will be in the period 2022-2025 amounted to EUR 34,200.00
Eligibility Criteria
- Proposals may be submitted by the following applicants:
- a public authority such as a municipality or other level of a local/regional authority, or
- a private entity that performs public service
- Natural persons are not eligible
Country of Establishment
Only legal entities based in Slovenia can participate in the tender.
Requirements
- All EUROPE DIRECT information points must have:
- identifiable space (hereinafter: EUROPE DIRECT headquarters) board, placed on the front of the building at street level, and as close to the board as possible working hours and / or dates of the visit and contact must also be indicated EUROPE DIRECT telephone number;
- a dedicated telephone line and e-mail address;
- online presence
- All EUROPE DIRECT points must:
- support the communication and cooperation activities they organize the Representation of the Commission and the Office of the European Parliament, including community development skupajsmo.eu;
- respond to individual requests for meetings;
- answer questions or refer persons to relevant EU networks or contact points Europe Direct center ;
- communicate with the public through social media;
- distribute EU publications / information / videos / messages;
- use the tool to conduct the satisfaction surveys it will provide Commission, for the evaluation of EUROPE DIRECT activities;
- report monthly in English on EUROPE DIRECT activities via an online reporting tool made available by the Commission.
