The Civil Society Development Center Association (STGM) is accepting proposals to support the Capacity of Civil Society Organizations in Disaster Risk Management Project Sub-grant.
Disaster Risk Management, which is an approach to creating a resilient society by reducing the effects of all kinds of natural and man-made disasters on life, property, environment and cultural heritage, includes the stages of preventing disasters, taking measures regarding disaster risk, disaster preparation, post-disaster intervention, recovery and reconstruction.
Program Priorities, Target Groups and Application Locations
- The sub-grant application for Supporting Civil Society Organizations in Disaster Risk Management has two target audiences;
- Target Audience 1: NGOs actively working in the disaster area after the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes.
- The following priority areas have been determined for Target Audience 1:
- Strengthening the capacity of local communities in the field of disaster risk management / creating new local initiatives.
- Strengthening the rights-based approach and universal humanitarian standards in the field of disaster risk management.
- The main implementation location of the projects to be proposed within the scope of Target Group 1 and related priority areas must be at least one of the provinces affected by the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş (Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, Adıyaman, Osmaniye, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Malatya, Diyarbakır, Adana, Kilis and Elazığ).
- Target Audience 2: NGOs that aim to provide capacity development in the field of disaster risk management and work in fundamental rights areas such as gender equality, children’s rights, nature protection, and refugee rights.
- The following priority areas will be supported for Target Group 2:
- Strengthening the capacity of rights-based civil society organizations in disaster risk management, developing organizational structures/operations in these areas, increasing their capacity in networking and volunteer management.
Funding Information
- The total grant amount planned to be given under this call for proposals is 600,000 (six hundred thousand) Euros. The grant amount to be requested per project must be at least 15,000 (fifteen thousand) Euros and at most 30,000 (thirty thousand) Euros.
Duration
- The implementation period of the projects to be supported under the grant program must be at least 9 months and at most 14 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- All applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Being an NGO with legal personality
- Types pf NGO’s eligible for applications are associations, foundation, federations, and confederations.
- Having a maximum of 30 full or part time employees as of June 2024
- Include atleast one male member on board of directors.
