Deadline: 26-Oct-22
The Climate & Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) is seeking proposals for its Transformative action through national planning, policy, and implementation.
The aspirational goal of the CCAC Engagement Strategy for National Planning, Policy and Implementation is that by 2030 all CCAC State Partners have further integrated air quality and climate planning and have implemented SLCP mitigation actions.
This call for proposals is seeking projects that help drive transformative action in the SLCP emitting sectors and support achievement of the CCAC’s goals.
Scope
- Project proposals should develop, enable, or implement innovative solutions that will advance one or more goals of the CCAC Engagement Strategy for National Planning, Policy and Implementation:
- By 2025 all CCAC state partners have undertaken steps to:
- Develop, prioritize and endorse SLCP mitigation strategies and/or plans consistent with their commitments to support global climate goals
- Include SLCP mitigation priorities in their national climate plans and/or other relevant national policies
- Implement integrated climate and air quality plans
- Develop institutionalized monitoring and reporting of SLCP action
- By 2025 at least 20 countries have alignment between national climate and clean air plans and sub-national plans and at least 20 sub-national authorities are implementing SLCP plans.
- Develop, prioritize and endorse SLCP mitigation strategies and/or plans consistent with their commitments to support global climate goals
- In line with these goals, the CCAC National Planning, Policy, and Implementation Hub has identified possible topics and areas of action to consider when responding to this call. Proposed solutions may include one or more of the following:
- Achieve the objectives of the Global Methane Pledge by identifying national and regional opportunities and strategies for further methane mitigation.
- Accelerate regional SLCP and integrated air pollution and climate change mitigation by building on existing regional mechanisms for collaboration, such as regional air pollution agreements and climate change negotiating blocs, existing CCAC and/or external initiatives at national level on SLCP mitigation, or by developing novel regional collaborations.
- Accelerate sub-national and/or city-scale SLCP and integrated air pollution and climate change mitigation and improve alignment between national and sub-national plans and policies.
- Enable and engage the private sector to reduce SLCP emissions, for example through tools, methods, and approaches including co-creation of policies to support achievement of CCAC and Global Methane Pledge mitigation goals.
