The Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) has launched its new call for proposals in the DRC to support civil society organizations working to protect women and girls, and to improve the socio-economic recovery and political participation of women and young women in peacebuilding contexts, as well as to support local women’s and young women’s organizations through institutional funding.
Objective
- The overall objective of this call for proposals is to provide grants to local women’s and young women’ rights organizations in civil society in the DRC focused on
- the protection of women and girls and
- peacebuilding and recovery, in conflict and crisis contexts. The call for proposals contributes to the WPHF’s overall objective of contributing to peaceful and gender-equal societies.
Funding Information
- Institutional Funding: (USD $2,500 $30,000)
- Programmatic Funding: Stream 2 (USD $30,000 – $200,000)
Duration
- All civil society organisations can apply for grants of up to 2 years (24 months).
Geographic Focus
- The WPHF will finance eligible projects in the DRC, with a geographical concentration in the provinces of South Kivu, North Kivu and Ituri.
Eligibility Criteria
- National, regional or local women-led or young women-led organisations, women’s rights organisations, youth rights organisations, feminist organisations or civil society organisations with a proven track record of working with women, young women and girls are eligible to apply. Women-led organisations facing multiple and intersecting forms of discrimination are encouraged to apply, including internally displaced persons, persons with disabilities, ethnic minorities, etc.
Ineligibility Criteria
- The following entities are not eligible for WPHF grants:
- International non-governmental organizations;
- Government agencies or institutions;
- Agencies, funds and programmes as well as other entities of the United Nations System;
- Individuals;
- Private sector entities;
- Universities and educational institutions.
