The City of Greater Geelong is offering Children’s Week Grants to provide organisations with an opportunity to celebrate and promote the unique contributions that young children make to the community and focus community attention on the needs and issues associated with early childhood.
Funding Information
- There is a total grant pool of $10,000 available plus free promotion of Children’s Week activities/events on offer.
- Grants of up to $500 are available to support both face to face community or online events and activities for children and families within the City of Greater Geelong municipality that take place during Children’s Week.
What can you apply for?
- Funding is offered for events and activities that cater to all children whose ages range between birth and twelve years and/or a relevant parenting activity for parents/carers who have children aged between birth and twelve years.
- Applicants must offer a project within the City of Greater Geelong municipality.
- The following is a list of ideas and examples that will be considered for funding. It is a guide only and the list should not be considered exhaustive.
- Active/physical focus – active play, outdoor activities, food related activities, dance, music, outings, culture specific activities, parenting session based on importance of active play
- Nature based activities – outings or within your own outdoor space, culture specific activities
- Emotional health focus – sand play, dress up party, music, story time or parenting session on emotional health, culture specific activities, food related activities
- Mental health focus – yoga, mindfulness, music, craft, meditation, nourishment, culturally specific activities, parent session relating to mental health
Eligibility Criteria
- Not-for-profits – incorporated bodies, co-operatives or associations
- Registered charitable organisations
- Unincorporated bodies with an auspice
- Schools and learning institutions – only for activities that are not curriculum based and the primary benefit is for the wider community
Ineligible
- City of Greater Geelong operated Early Years Services
- For-profits – commercial entities, businesses
- Individual/Sole Traders (entity type with Australian Business Register)
- Individuals (without an ABN)
- Applicants with outstanding acquittals for grant funding from the City – including auspices
- Applicants with outstanding debts or arrears to the City of Greater Geelong or in legal proceedings with the City
- An organisation involved in legal proceedings relating to winding up its operations, or experiencing insolvency or bankruptcy (this includes any legal bankruptcy‑related actions against the organisation’s directors or officers)
