The City of Lafayette is inviting applications for its Public Art Grant Program from Lafayette artists, arts organizations, and groups to support a visual art project in Lafayette at a location that is clearly visible, outdoors, and accessible to the public.
Artists and arts groups outside of Lafayette are welcome to apply for a project within Lafayette city limits.
Goals
- To have a positive impact on the quality of life in the community by fostering cooperation, advocacy, marketing, education, and stewardship of public art that will create public understanding of the social and economic value of art in the community.
- To integrate various forms of public art into all areas of Lafayette to enhance the image of the city and reflect the cultural and ethnic diversity of the community.
Funding Information
- Projects ranging from $1,500-$2,500 are preferred, and the PAC encourages newcomers.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants or project coordinators must be eighteen years or older.
- All projects must occur in Lafayette.
- All projects must be complete by December 19, 2025.
- All grants must be submitted online.
- Grantee’s Final Report must be completed and submitted within 30 days after the completion of the project.
- All projects must comply with the following nondiscrimination statement:
- The Lafayette Public Art Committee pledges not to discriminate against any employee, volunteer, or program participant on the bases of age, race, sex, gender, color, creed, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, transgender status, gender identity, gender expression, ancestry, marital status, veteran status, political service, political affiliation, disability, or socio-economic status.
- Project publicity must credit the Public Art Committee.
- A City of Lafayette Arts & Cultural Resources logo will be provided.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Funds will not be provided for projects that have occurred before 2025, capital improvements, fundraising events, receptions, existing general operating budgets, salaries of employees for organizations, or reductions of deficits from past programs.
