The City of Thornton is now accepting applications for the Community Development Block Grant to support housing, public facilities, public services, public infrastructure, and economic development projects that benefit Thornton’s low- and moderate-income residents.
Eligible Activities
- Acquisition of real property
- Relocation and demolition
- Rehabilitation of residential and non-residential structures
- Construction of public facilities and improvements
- Activities relating to energy conservation and renewable energy resources
- Provision of assistance to profit-motivated businesses to carry out economic development and job creation/retention activities
- Public services (limited to no more than 15% of the total annual allocation, unless restriction lifted due to special circumstances)
Criteria
- Your agency or department may be a good fit for CDBG funding if it:
- Develops and/or rehabilitates affordable housing; or
- Provides a home ownerships assistance program; or
- Serves Thornton residents or seeks to expand resident services in the city; or
- Has a public facilities project within Thornton; or
- Plans to open, expand, or improve a public facility in Thornton; or
- Seeks to implement neighborhood improvements
Eligible Applicants
- Applicants must be a duly registered government agency, quasi-governmental agency, a housing authority, or a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
