Counterpart International (CPI) Bangladesh is accepting applications from the interested organizations and institutions to apply to receive funding as the Research Partner for the Promoting Advocacy and Rights Activity 2019-2022, (hereby referred to as the “PAR Research Partner”).
Counterpart is evaluating the possibility of engaging local partners who have the management and technical capacity to provide high quality research service delivery with regards to this program. The research support is intended to ensure that civil society actors are drawing on well-researched and appropriately documented evidence to support their advocacy initiatives.
Promoting Advocacy and Rights (PAR) is a five (5) year program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United Kingdom Agency for International Development (UKAid) and implemented by Counterpart International (CPI). PAR’s goal is to strengthen the enabling environment for civil society institutions advancing good governance and citizen participation in Bangladesh. Additionally, the project will contribute to a more inclusive, resilient, and evidence-driven Bangladeshi civil society. There are five key objectives of the PAR project:
- Increase Civil Society (CS) engagement in good governance issues;
- Improve CS ability to monitor and raise awareness of policy issues;
- Enhance CS capacity to operate effectively;
- Enhance CS networks advocating for policy reforms and
- Improve CS government platforms for dialogue.
Program Objectives
The purpose of this funding opportunity is to:
- Generate data and analysis which civil society actors can leverage when developing policy proposals
- Build the capacity of civil society to conduct research and engage in evidence-driven advocacy initiatives.
Award Information
- Subject to the availability of funds, CPI expects to award one (1) Research Partner grant. The total amount available is BDT 9,268,000.
- The expected duration of CPI’s support or the period of performance is [03/15/2019-11/30/2022]. Promoting Advocacy and Rights (PAR) project /CPI reserves the right to fund any or none of the application submitted.
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant/application must meet the following requirements:
- Be officially registered and working in compliance with all applicable civil and fiscal regulations, including, but not limited to pertinent local laws and status. In lieu of official registration, a grantee may show proof of effort to secure registration, exemption from registration, or show cause why such registration is either not optional or practicable;
- Meet the projects objectives and principles;
- Contain expected outcomes and results consistent with and linked to the projects objectives;
- Applicant is not a debarred organization.
