Deadline: 31-Oct-22
The Finnish Cultural Foundation is seeking applications for its Central Fund to award grants for scientific and artistic work as well as projects.
What kind of grant can you apply for?
- Science grants
- Science grants are primarily awarded as personal working grants for a dissertation or post-dissertation research.
- Research groups are granted limited grants. Every year, a few research groups receive a large project grant of 100,000–250,000 euros. Research groups mean all research projects carried out by working groups of at least two people.
- Art grants
- Art grants can be applied for work and project implementation and acquisition costs. Typical items are, for example, the personal work of an individual artist, a music or theater production of a work group, or the purchase of a musical instrument or other work equipment.
- Those applying for a personal working grant can apply for an expense grant to cover the expenses incurred from work with the same application.
Eligibility Criteria
- All Finns and persons and organizations living or operating in Finland can apply. Others can also apply if the application has a clear, strong connection to Finland or Finnish culture. The guardian fills in the application for a child under 15 with the child’s name.
- By a person alone for their own work or expenses or both.
- A work group consisting of several people for the work of the group members or project costs or both. The applicant acts as the person in charge of the group, who is responsible for the grant that may be awarded to the Cultural Fund and, if necessary, to the pension institution (MELA), the tax authority and other members of the group.
- The art working group can also apply for a working grant for the producer of the project, if the producer is part of the artistic working group.
- Working group members cannot apply for a personal grant for the same project with another application.Only one application is made for the same object.
- Registered entity (e.g. association or cooperative) for the costs of the project, incl. to salary costs.
- Grants are not awarded for the basic activities of organizations that are publicly funded in nature (for example, a university or a city theater that benefits from vos funding). However, grants can be awarded for short-term separate projects of such organizations. In general, organizations whose activities are financed by discretionary grants from the state or municipality are eligible to apply.
- If the community is not registered, the application is submitted as a working group.
