The Caribbean Vulnerable Communities Coalition (CVC) is issuing this RFP to Caribbean Community Based Organisations interested in developing specific social media advocacy campaigns and online knowledge products c on informal workers, migrants, and other Inadequately Served Populations (ISP) throughout the Caribbean who are struggling with the fall-out from the COVID-19 pandemic as well as identifying what needs to be done to safeguard the human rights of these groups.
These Social Media Advocacy Campaigns will support CVC’s Community Rapid Response Mechanism to advocate against COVID-19 and policies and public ordinances that are detrimental to or infringe the human rights of informal workers and other Inadequately Served Populations (ISP).
The CVC has established a Community Rapid Response Mechanism to advocate against COVID-19 and policies and public ordinances that are detrimental or infringe the human rights of informal workers, migrants and other Inadequately Served Populations. This mechanism is set up to operate with CVC’s member organisations throughout the Caribbean, to jointly capture the situation on the ground and produce mini-advocacy campaigns on social media that draw attention to specific issues facing vulnerable populations disproportionately affected by COVID-19.
Requirements
The selected CBO will provide professional services as detailed below.
- The selected CBO will develop and successfully execute an online awareness-raising and advocacy campaign to provide visibility to a specific issue(s) of concern and strategize its presence online.
- The CBO will also be asked to produce online social media products to support the issue.
- The maximum possible budget per mini campaign is US$3,400 with each social media campaign having an associated list of elements as follows:
- Up to US$500 for campaign content creation and coordination
- Up to US$1,000 for content production: video, photography and graphics, production, and post-production costs for each mini campaign. (eligible costs include things like professional fees to create video, photography and infographics).
- Up to US$1,500 to design IEC material to support the promotion and distribution of the campaign.
- Up to US$ 200 for costs related to advertising and campaign placement in social media
- Up to US$200 to distribute personal protection kits for CBOs volunteers and outreach workers during the preparation of the campaign.
- Any organization may submit applications to do a maximum of two mini campaigns that highlights the specific challenges and human rights concerns affecting any one of the target populations for each campaign. The total overall budget for both campaigns should not exceed Six Thousand Eight Hundred United States Dollars (US$6,800).
