Deadline: 19 December 2016
Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs and Department for International Development are seeking applications for 23rd round of Darwin Initiative scoping Projects funding with an aim to develop a workable project idea and make contact with potential partners in the country where the project would take place.
Funding Information
Funding up to £5,000 is available to cover the following costs:
- one return economy-class airfare for up to two people from the applicant organization to the proposed host country to meet with the main project partners.
- the cost of any visas or other necessary travel documents (including travel/medical insurance).
- costs related to workshops or meetings, supported by valid receipts.
- daily subsistence costs for a maximum of 10 days per person for the main travelers to cover reasonable accommodation and food costs for the visit. These costs should be realistic and should be in line with any rates applied within your own organisation. If the rates quoted appear to be high, then you may be asked to justify them, but they will not, in themselves, lead to your application being unsuccessful.
Eligibility Criteria
- All the below mentioned countries are eligible for Darwin funding.
- All countries that appear in columns 1-3 are eligible for funding.
- Countries in column 4 are eligible for funding if the application clearly demonstrates that it either:
- advances knowledge, evidence and impact in other least developed or low income countries
- contributes to the global public good, for example by advancing understanding and/or strengthening the knowledge base related to biodiversity conservation/sustainable use and poverty reduction
- contributes to serious and unique research advancements on a critical issue as a result of specific circumstances of the middle income country that could not be made elsewhere.
