The Department of Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking applications for its grant program “Occupational Safety and Health Research.”
The Research Project Grant (R01) supports a discrete, specified, circumscribed project in scientific areas that represent the investigators specific interests and competencies and that fall within the mission of NIOSH.
The purpose of the grant program is:
- to develop an understanding of the risks and conditions associated with occupational diseases and injuries,
- to explore methods for reducing risks and preventing or minimizing exposure to hazardous conditions in the workplace, and
- to translate significant scientific findings into prevention practices and products that will effectively reduce work-related illnesses and injuries.

- Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Private institutions of higher education
- State governments
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)
