The Dumfries and Galloway Council is pleased to announce the Dumfries Common Good Fund Small Grants Scheme.
The Common Good Fund provides groups or individuals with financial help to organise events and activities for residents in their area.
Priorities
- Dumfries Common Good Fund Priorities
- Events, activities or projects that enhance assets belonging to Dumfries Common Good Fund e.g. Guid Nychburris Festival.
- Events, activities or projects that celebrate the civic and historical traditions of Dumfries Burgh, and with a connection to Dumfries Common Good Fund.
Funding Information
- All applications from community organisations require match-funding of at least 50%, which must be detailed in the application, and confirmed before grants are paid out. The maximum grant award to community organisations is £1,500.
- Applications from individuals will be considered on a sponsorship basis only. The applicant must be resident in Dumfries Burgh. No match-funding is required from individuals but applications incorporating match-funding or fundraising activities will be considered more favourably. The maximum grant award to individuals is £500.
Eligibility Criteria
- All applications for funding must relate to an activity within Dumfries Burgh
- All applications for sponsorship must be able to demonstrate benefit to the Dumfries Burgh community.
- Fundraising activities should be detailed where appropriate.
- Organisations seeking grants must have a UK-based bank account in the name of the organisation and be able to supply a copy of a satisfactory adopted constitution.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Items not eligible for funding are:
- Applications which do not support activity within Dumfries Burgh.
- Applications for fireworks, sky lanterns or helium balloons.
- Applications for core funding (running costs) e.g. wages and ongoing overheads.
- Applications from self-interest groups.
- Applications for the sole benefit of a private asset where there is no wider benefit.
