The Denbighshire Voluntary Services Council has launched the Cogog Grants Scheme for locally constituted organisations (including registered charities, charitable incorporated organisations, community groups, town or community councils, community interest companies, social enterprises, schools, churches and uniformed groups) for food related projects.
Priorities
- The grant priorities this year will be:
- (Projects must meet at least one or more of the grant priorities)
- Denbighshire residents can access affordable, healthier foods.
- Reduce food waste in Denbighshire.
- Residents in Denbighshire have the confidence to cook healthier food.
- Increase the number of residents engaged in community growing.
- Enable/promote food security and sustainability
- Enable greater partnership working
- Projects becoming more self-sustaining
- Reduce social isolation and better community cohesion
- (Projects must meet at least one or more of the grant priorities)
Funding Information
- Grants up to £10,000
Eligible Projects
- Examples of projects could include (this list is not exhaustive):
- Food growing schemes
- Cooking & nutrition awareness
- Food waste reduction
- Social supermarkets / Food pantries
- Equipment for food projects
- Social food groups / bringing people together with food
- Winter food initiatives
Eligibility Criteria
- Projects or initiatives that deliver and/or meet the aims of Cogog, are eligible. These would include projects that:
- Minimise food waste
- Promote healthier food options
- Provide access to affordable and nutritious food
- Educate and promote awareness of good food
- Growing your own fruit and veg, etc
- Creating food security and sustainability
