The Permanent Secretariat for the Pacific has launched a call for applications for projects eligible for support in 2018 from the “Fund for economic, social and cultural cooperation in the Pacific”, commonly referred to as the “Pacific Fund”.
Created in 1985 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development (MAEDI), it contributes to the regional integration of the French territories in the Pacific: New Caledonia, French Polynesia, and Wallis and Futuna.
Funding Information
The Pacific Fund allocates on average € 30,000 per project.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, projects must fall under one of the following categories:
- Enabling French territories to be involved in the fight against climate change and in risk management for natural disasters. Projects helping States observe their obligations and implement the decisions made at COP21 and COP22 will be particularly appreciated.
- Economic and industrial projects (feasibility study, impact study, training actions…)
- Health security (fight against endemic diseases: non-communicable or due to infections)
- Food security (fishery management, actions for economic and growth development)
Beyond these topic criteria, preference will be given to projects highlighting planned efforts for communication, efficiency measures, monitoring and follow-up using indicators and medium and long-term impacts.
