The Embassy of Japan in Georgia is seeking applications for its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Grant Projects (GGP) with an aim to ensure the basic “Human Security” through the implementation of projects of various types and necessity in Georgia and many other developing countries.
GGP attempts to empower people and communities and address the basic human needs in such fields as Primary Healthcare, Primary Education, Agriculture, Social Protection, Poverty Alleviation, and any other field related to basic human needs.
Project Areas
- Primary Education, such as:
- Reconstruction of Public School
- Renovation of Kindergarten
- Etc.
- Primary Healthcare, such as:
- Equipping/Renovating non-commercial Hospitals
- Providing Ambulance Vehicles to the Hospital
- Etc.
- Social Care, such as:
- Establishment of Elderly Care Center
- Rehabilitation of Center for Disabled People
- Etc.
- Agriculture, such as:
- Providing Agricultural Machinery to the Rural Community
- Establishment of Storage, Packing or Processing Center
- Etc.
- Infrastructure, such as:
- Construction of Gabions and strengthening the River Banks
- Improvement of the Water Supply System
- Etc.
- Other, such as:
- Environmental Projects
- Security Projects (e.g. Mine Clearance)
- Etc.
Funding Information
The maximum grant amount available for each project for the Fiscal year 2017 is expected to be 90 000 USD.
Eligibility Criteria
Any non-profit organization is eligible to be a GGP recipient. The requirements are that it be:
- A non-profit organization implementing projects in listed above or similar Project Areas at the Grass-roots level in Georgia
- The Organization is established, registered and fully functional for minimum of last three years
- Organization can demonstrate the proof of sound financial background of at last the past two fiscal years
- Organization has more than five full time employees
- Organization has a solid, recent experience of conducting and implementing projects in applied fields, desirably with International donors or partners
- Organization has a capacity to fully respond to Embassy’s inquires and provide requested documentation on English Language
- Organization is fully aware that GGP cannot cover any of their expenses (e.g. administration, utility costs, transportaion, etc.)
- Organization is honest and motivated by selfless reasons
- Individuals and profit-making organizations are NOT eligible.
- Currently the embassy is unable to directly finance governmental institutions and bodies.
