The Embassy of The Slovak Republic in Minsk has announces a call for proposals for Small Grants in the Republic Of Belarus.
Small grants are one of the instruments of the Slovak development cooperation. They are provided by the Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation through the Slovak Embassy in Minsk. Small grants focus on supporting small-scale development projects and enable a flexible, operational and effective response to development needs at the local level.
Themes
- The two following cross-cutting themes should be taken into account and integrated into the project proposals. The cross-cutting themes can also represent a priority focus of the project:
- Environment and climate change – supporting projects that contribute to the implementation of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and its global goals, including climate change mitigation; strengthening adaptation to climate change and enhancing the resilience of ecosystems and supporting their services; protecting nature, biodiversity and soil; monitoring the environment and its components; protecting and promoting the sustainable use of natural resources.
- Equality of women and men – eliminating all forms of discrimination against women and girls, as well as all forms of violence against women and girls, including harmful practices and customs (such as early or forced marriage or female genital mutilation); ensuring equal opportunities in public life; promoting education; improving access to quality health care for all girls, women, boys and men, taking into account their specific needs; reducing maternal, newborn and under-five mortality. Within the framework of women’s economic empowerment, the goal is to develop and implement interventions that promote equal opportunities in the workplace, equal access to opportunities and resources, as well as women’s involvement in entrepreneurship.
Sector Priorities
- The submitted projects must be related to sectors defined by the Medium-term Strategy for Development Cooperation of the Slovak Republic for 2025 – 2030, namely:
- Infrastructure and sustainable use of natural resources – improving water and waste management; environmental protection and restoration; transition to a green economy and the use of clean energy with regard to energy security; sustainable forest management, sustainable development of settlements; reducing the risk of natural disasters; building environmental awareness.
- Good health – health and social care with an emphasis on mothers and children, nutritional programs, equipment of health facilities, education and awareness of the population in the field of prevention and health care, including mental health; education of health and social workers.
- Quality education – education at all levels of schools; acquisition of professional skills with a focus on entering the labour market and own entrepreneurship; education of teaching and non-teaching staff, equipment of school facilities.
Funding Information
- The maximum amount of the non-repayable financial contribution is 10 000 EUR per project.
- A maximum number of the selected projects are limited by the budget allocated for this call for proposals which is 20 000 EUR.
- The duration of each project is from 6 to a maximum of 12 months beginning immediately after the entry of the small grant agreement into effect.
Eligibility Criteria
- The call for proposals is open to registered:
- non-entrepreneurial (non-commercial) legal entities
- non-governmental organizations
- local and regional self-government units
Ineligibility Criteria
- The applicant cannot be
- a legal entity subject to an international sanction under Act No. 289/2016 Coll. of Slovak Republic on the Implementation of International Sanctions and on the Amendment to Act No. 566/2001 Coll. of Slovak Republic on Securities and Investment Services and the Amendment and Supplementation of Certain Acts.
- a legal entity against which the Slovak Republic has a financial claim.
