The Community Foundation Ireland has launched the Energia Meenadreen & Derrysallagh Community Fund to foster environmental sustainability, climate action, and community wellbeing through impactful partnerships.
Types of Funds
- Energia Meenadreen Community Fund
- Energia Derrysallagh Community Fund
- The Energia Meenadreen & Derrysallagh Community Fund supports non-profit, community, voluntary, and not-for-profit organisations within a 14km radius of the Derrysallagh Wind Farm, with priority given to those within a 10km radius
Focus Areas
- Both rounds seek to back community projects that focus on:
- Environmental enhancement
- Climate action
- Biodiversity
- Community engagement and wellbeing
Funding Information
- Energia Meenadreen Community Fund: Grants of up to €10,000 are available.
- Energia Derrysallagh Community Fund: Grants of up to €6,000 are available.
Eligibility Criteria
- The grant is open to non-profit organisations.
- Applicants must be located within the immediate vicinity or up to 14km away from the Meenadreen Derrysallagh Wind Farm.
- Priority is given to organisations within a 10km radius of the wind farm.
- Organisations should have access to an organisational bank account.
- Applicants should possess charitable aims.
- Applicants should possess charitable aims and have a written constitution outlining these objectives.
- The grant is only open organisations that are not-for-profit.
Ineligibility Criteria
- The fund will not cover:
- Core or ongoing overhead costs.
- Proposals for equipment cost only
- Promotion of religious causes
- Work that has already taken place
- Non charitable activities
- Political donations
