The European Union (EU) is currently accepting proposals from eligible organisations for a program entitled “Enhanced Engagement of Civil Society in Justice Sector Reforms” to promote the engagement of civil society organizations in the justice sector reforms by supporting advocacy, networking, policy making and monitoring of reforms.
The programme is divided into five lots:
- LOT 1: Judiciary
- LOT 2: Penitentiary and Probation
- LOT 3: Juvenile Justice
- LOT 4: Criminal Justice
- LOT 5: Prosecution and Investigation
Size of Grants
Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts:
- LOT 1
- minimum amount: EUR 250,000
- maximum amount: EUR 300,000
- LOT 2
- minimum amount: EUR 460,000
- maximum amount: EUR 500,000
- LOT 3
- minimum amount: EUR 250,000
- maximum amount: EUR 300,000
- LOT 4
- minimum amount: EUR 250,000
- maximum amount: EUR 300,000
- LOT 5
- minimum amount: EUR 250,000
- maximum amount: EUR 300,000
Eligibility Criteria
- In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- be a legal person and
- be non-profit-making and
- be a non-governmental organisation and
- be established in a Member State of the European Union or Georgia and
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the coapplicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary and
- be established for at least one year at the time of the publication of this call, as documented by the organisation’s registration documents, and
- have a proven track-record of relevant support to justice sector reforms.
- Potential applicants may not participate in calls for proposals or be awarded grants if they are in any of the situations
- The lead applicant must declare that the lead applicant himself, the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies) are not in any of these situations.
How to Apply
- The application procedure consists of two phases:
- Concept notes
- Full applications
- In the first instance, only concept notes must be submitted for evaluation. Thereafter, lead applicants who have been pre-selected will be invited to submit a full application.
