The European Union (EU) is currently accepting proposals from eligible organisations for a program entitled “Strengthening capacities of civil society organisations active in the field of elections” with an aim to strengthen domestic capacities for observation of electoral processes and advocacy for electoral reforms.
The objective of this call for proposals is to contribute to the consolidation of democracy in Pakistan through improved electoral process with a focus on their enhanced credibility and inclusiveness.
Size of Grants
Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between EUR 5,500,000 and EUR 6,000,000.
Location
Actions must take place in Pakistan and involve all provinces and regions of Pakistan.
Duration
The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 30months norexceed 36months.
Eligibility Criteria
- In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- be a legal person
- be non-profit-making
- non-governmental organisation
- be established in a Member State of the European Union or in Pakistan
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary
- have proved experience in the field of domestic observation, electoral assistance and advocacy for electoral reforms, including at least 5 years of experience and knowledge of the related context in Pakistan
- Any organisation which is a consortium member or subcontractor under Service Contract “EU Support to Election Processes in Pakistan” or organisations currently providing support to the ECP under any engagement would not be eligible for the award of a grant.
- Potential applicantsmay not participate in calls for proposals or be awarded grants if they are in any of the situations
- The lead applicant must declare that the lead applicant himself, the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies)are not in any of thesesituations.
- The lead applicant must act with co-applicant(s) as specified hereafter.
How to Apply
- The application procedure consists of two phases:
- Concept notes
- Full applications
- In the first instance, only concept notes must be submitted for evaluation. Thereafter, lead applicants who have been pre-selected will be invited to submit a full application.
